The last question before the gray boxes is a yes or no answer only.  If you have missed a required question, the system will prompt you to answer it before continuing.  At the bottom of the page on the left, check the box that says “I accept” then click “Continue on the bottom right.

11.   Once you have completed your registration in our registration system, you will quickly receive an E-Invite from The Advocates, which is Sterling Volunteers customer care.

12.  You need to click the link in the email and choose a username and password for Sterling Volunteers.  From there you will be logged into Sterling Volunteers.  Confirm the information that they have already received from our registration system and complete the unanswered questions for processing.

13.  You will then come to a payment page.  In the upper portion of the page it will state that the cost of the background check is $25.00 and will ask if you would like to contribute toward that cost.  You can, although Region 359 has already set up covering the cost of the fee for you.  Simply click No or Not at this time.  The next question is asking if you would like to enroll in Fast Pass. Please click No or Not at this time.  AYSO is not participating in the Fast Pass Program.

14.  On the bottom portion of the page you will again see the charges and the acknowledgement of Region 359 paying the $25.00 fee.  Click Submit or Continue at the bottom of the page.  You will get a total of 3 initial email from Verified Volunteers.  The first one with the link to the site, the second acknowledging that you have set up a username and password and a third acknowledging that your background check is now being processed.  Once you background check has completed, you will receive one last email advising that the background check has been completed.

Lastly, once registered all volunteers not coach certified for the age division they are coaching are required to attend a training class for that specific division.  There are also two short online courses that are required yearly, Safe Haven and CDC Concussion.  While in your account on the website you will see a tab called AYSOU.  Click there, then click My Courses.  Your two courses will be listed there.  It does not matter which course you take first.  It is only required that both are completed on a yearly basis if your volunteerism continues.
