Who Is a Volunteer?
Volunteers are how our organization runs.
Board members, coaches, referees, team parents, and many other helpers are all volunteers. Every volunteer must complete training and meet eligibility requirements in order to support a safe, fun, and positive AYSO experience.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering is one of the best ways to support your child, your team, and your community.
- Spend quality time supporting your child and other players
- Help create a strong and welcoming soccer community
- No experience is necessary for many roles
- AYSO provides free training and certification
- Teens ages 12 and up can volunteer and build leadership skills

- SafeSport training
- Concussion Awareness training
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest training
- Safe Haven training
Every Assistant and Head Coach Must Have
- Background check
- Fingerprinting

- Correct division online training
- In-person training course if applicable

- 6U and 8U coach training can be completed online.
- 10U and older coach training is a combination of online and in-person training.
- Referee training also includes both online and in-person training.

AYSO’s Safe Haven program helps create a safe and positive environment for children and volunteers through screening, training, and clear protection policies.
